Pronunciation  KAR-lee-ah   RUE-big-oh
Etymology  Carlia: thought to be meaningless.
rubigo: "From the Latin rubigo, meaning ‘rust'. In reference to the rusty orange colouration on this species, particularly on the flanks of males. The species epithet is treated as a noun in apposition."1
