Range

Australia's most wide-spread reptile, found across most of the mainland (absent only from some of the southern-most parts). Also found in New Guinea.

Found in the following Australian states/territories

Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia

Habitat

Virtually all habitats within its range, from deserts through to rainforest margins. Probably not found at high elevations, in rainforests or in deep ocean trenches.
