Pronunciation  ah-PRAY-zee-ah  
Etymology  Aprasia: thought to be meaningless.1
wicherina: "The species name refers to the area of Wicherina, where all the type material is known from, and a local indigenous word meaning water hole (S. Heriot, pers. comm.). The epithet is to be used as a noun in apposition." (Maryan, Adams & Aplin 2015)
