Taxonomic notes

This species was described by De Vis in 1888, but was originally placed in a different genus.2
Resurrected from synonymy with wood mulch-slider (Lerista muelleri). A 2007 publication called this animal Lerista rhodonoides (Lucas & Frost 1896)3, but a more recent publication showed that L. rhodonoides is a junior synonym to L. timida.4
