Pronunciation  KAR-lee-ah   INN-conn-EXX-ah
Etymology  Carlia: thought to be meaningless.
inconnexa: "the name is from the Latin that means 'unjoined', which is an allusion to the skink's insular environment."1 This species was originally described as an island subspecies of the open-litter rainbow-skink (Carlia pectoralis).
