Natural historyThis dragon is common along waterways on the east coast of Australia, even those in urban areas. Water dragons will perch on branches overhanging the water and will drop down if disturbed, swimming away with powerful strokes of their tail or remaining submerged for up to 90 minutes. DietA wide variety of invertebrates and soft fruits. Often scavenges from humans at picnic grounds. Water dragons will swim out to eat bugs and stuff that have fallen in the water. |
